India is the second most populous country in the world, with over 1 billion citizens. India lacks a long-term availability of water resources.
Over 21 percent of communicable diseases in India are linked to unsafe water, and only a third of the country has access to traditional sanitation.

The main reasons India faces this crisis are due to lack of governmental planning,
increased corporate privatization, and government corruption.
However, there are areas in India that are fortunate and have a relatively wet climate, so there’s a possibility to collect rainwater. Although, there is no organized plan for rain catchment, and most of the rainwater isn’t used.
